AI adoption based on firm size

According to the latest research from the British Chambers of Commerce, many firms are laggards when it comes to the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.

Consider the following sobering facts:

• 48% of all businesses have no plans to use AI

• Another 22% are currently not using AI, but planned to do so in the future

• 58% of B2C businesses have no plans to use AI

• Firms with fewer than 50 employees are less likely to use AI (51% versus 37% of larger businesses)

Given the potential of AI to disrupt entire industries, it is essential for all companies to understand the implications of AI, and to be an early adopter of this technology.

And rather than lament about the lack of resources or know-how, SMEs can and should leverage AI to level the playing field against their bigger competitors.
